Wool Compost from Dalefoot Composts is a real alternative to Peat Free compost. A blend of sheep’s wool and bracken, the compost is made wholly in the UK and is a ‘professional growing medium with consistent performance and reliable results’.

Fresh fish from Brittania of Beesands

We have a wide range of freshly frozen wetfish and shellfish including salmon, crab and many others supplied by locally based Brittania of Beesands.

We’re pleased to share that we are now working with Brittania to supply our customers with fresh fish and shellfish, which can be ordered weekly.

Greetings cards and paper stem cotton buds – plastic free

This month sees the arrival of yet more products as part of our move to reduce the plastic packaging in store.

Our range of greeting cards are available in compostable packaging, with recycled paper envelopes and vegetable-based inks. Most if not all are also printed in the UK.

We’ve also added paper stem cotton buds to our range – the cotton buds come in containers of 100 and are 100% biodegradable environmentally friendly.

Free From range including Foxcombe Bakehouse, Eat Real and more…

Our Free From range instore has grown; we’re now stocking a range of sweet treats and savoury snacks from the likes of Vegan Bakery, Eat Real and Foxcombe Bakehouse. The products are free from gluten, dairy and/or are vegan.

Even better, South West based company Foxcombe Bakehouse package their products plastic free. Their ‘EcoBags’ are produced from natural renewable resources, and are both compostable and biodegradable. All boards are fully recyclable.

Rowcroft Hospice: mid-year collection tin total

A big thank you to customers who have donated to the Rowcroft Hospice collection tin in-store. Rowcroft got in touch to let us know that over the last few months, our customers have raised over £30 in total, raising vital funds to help them continue providing care to patients and families across South Devon.

August Bank Holiday 2019 opening hours

A quick notice to our customers that we’ll be operating slightly reduced opening hours on the upcoming bank holiday Monday (26th August). The shop and Post Office will be open from 8am-1pm.

Now stocking: Flavoured milk in recyclable glass bottles

If you’ve been in store recently, you might have spotted we are now stocking flavoured milk from Delamere Dairy. The milk comes in reusable and recyclable glass bottles and is available in a variety of flavours including vanilla, banana, strawberry, chocolate and iced coffee.

The products join our existing range of milk and juice drinks available in 1 pint glass bottles, now including Apple and Cranberry Juice. Even better, these pints are all available in returnable glass bottles, so you can return them to Galleon Stores knowing they’ll be put to good use again.

We’re now stocking a range of frozen fish in store from local company Britannia of Beesands, including Dressed Crab, Cod and Lemon Sole Fillets, Prawns, Salmon Steak and Haddock. Come in store to see the full range, or give us a call on 01803 842148 for more information.
