Fresh fruit and veg forecast for the rest of October
The changing of the seasons brings a change to the seasonal produce we have available on the Market Stall and to order, supplied in the most part from local farmers across Devon and Cornwall.
To get the best out of the season over the next few weeks, we would recommend:
Cabbage (January King and Savoy), Kale (Green Curly, Cavalo Nero, Calabrese) and Romanesque Cauli. There’s also Salad Potatoes, Spring Onions, Apples, Mixed Squash, Celeriac, Swede and Carving Pumpkins ahead of Halloween.
If it’s best value produce you’re looking for:
Opt for Cabbage, Corn on the Cob, Calabrese Kale, Tricolour Peppers and Potatoes. For fruit, take your pick from Limes, Bramley Apples, Pomegranate and large unripened Mangos.
And for something novel:
You can find fresh chestnut mushrooms, cranberries and Sharon fruit.
